At Lufthansa Technik alone, 2,000 jobs will be added, while around 800 pilots are being sought – Job opportunities will also exist for cabin crew, technical occupations, management and ground services
Around 10,000 new hires are planned for this year by the Lufthansa airline group, proving in practice that the travel industry is experiencing a new boom after the coronavirus pandemic. In the same context, the acquisition of the Italian airline ITA is expected to be finalized.
In view of the expansion of its activities, Lufthansa is going to hire around 10,000 new employees within 2025. At Lufthansa Technik alone, 2,000 jobs will be added, while around 800 pilots are being sought. Employment opportunities will also exist for cabin crew, technical trades, management and ground services. More than half of the positions are within Germany.
After cutting 30,000 jobs during the pandemic, Europe’s largest airline group said it received 350,000 applications by 2024 and eventually hired 13,000 employees and will continue to increase its staff. In total, it currently employs more than 100,000 workers in 90 countries.
In the same vein, the German Travel Association (DRV) predicts that consumer travel spending will continue to grow this year, despite the difficult economic situation. Significant performances are expected to be recorded in the South again and next Monday, according to the German news agency dpa, it is estimated that the acquisition of ITA by Lufthansa will also be finalized, with the aim of strengthening activity in the Southern European market. However, as the German public television ARD broadcasts, the upcoming acquisition is being carefully examined by the European Commission, which has already set conditions in order not to exclude the competitors of Lufthansa, Easyjet, Air France-KLM and British Airways with Iberia.
