Until Tuesday 21 January 2025, unemployed people interested in starting their own business initiative can submit applications to receive funding of 17,000 euros.

The program is part of the innovative actions of the Public Employment Service (PYPA), which aim to strengthen the country’s human capital and ensure access to financing for the unemployed, aged 30-59, emphasizing women, as they make up almost 2/3 of the registered unemployed.

By joining the program, interested parties will receive grant for a period of 12 months, starting on the date of commencement of business activity.

As stated in a relevant announcement, the amount of support for each new business amounts to 17,000 euros and is paid in three installments as follows:

  • 1st installment, amounting to 4,600 euros, after the start of activity
  • 2nd installment, amounting to 6,200 euros, after the end of the first semester
  • 3rd installment, amounting to 6,200 euros, after the end of the second semester

The action is aimed at unemployed people aged 30-59, with an emphasis on women, and aims to promote entrepreneurship, through the creation of new small and medium-sized businesses by 5,880 unemployed people.

The funding application, which includes a business plan proposal, is submitted electronically to the Integrated Information System of State Aids (OPSKE) of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance at the online address https://opske.gr/el.

The applications will be evaluated by DYPA, in order to select the business proposals, which will be included with the comparative evaluation methodology.

The program, with a budget of 100,000,000 euros, is co-financed by the Greek State and the European Social Fund+ within the framework of the “Human Resources and Social Cohesion” program 2021-2027.
