The number of beneficiaries of the “Change Heating System and Water System” is expanding: for the main house as well as for the cottage.

As it turns out, the interest is huge, so the ministry has decided to raise the amounts to be made to cover as many applications as possible. The exact size will be determined after the deadline for submitting the relevant applications, which expires on March 31.

The amounts of grants that the beneficiaries will receive

Since January 13, when the special platform for heating and water heater has been opened, 75,000 applications have been submitted, of which 31,000 relate to the installation of heat pump, despite the expensive costs.

The “Changing Heating System and Water System” allows those who want to install heat pumps to subsidize up to 7,440 euros. Those who will place a solar water heater are up to 1,041 euros.

The state subsidy covers 50% to 60% of the total cost of the purchase and installation of these energy systems.

In addition, it is possible to replace old -fashioned energy -efficient electric heaters, without it being a prerequisite for participation in the program.

Applications for funding by interested parties will only be submitted electronically until 31.3.2025 and compulsory through the official website of the program (https://alalazothermansi-thermosifona.gov.gr).

Applications for funding are comparatively evaluated and the existence of the family/members of the family are taken into account if the application concerns families with three or more dependent children, if the residence is in atmospheric aggravated regions (only for the new heat pump system), in areas with high number of graduals.

What does the program for purchase and installation subsidize

In any case the grant concerns:

  • Buying a new solar water heater of modern technology, at 50% or 60%, with the exact rate being on the basis of income criteria.
  • Buying a new heat pump system, 50% (including eg outdoor unit, fan coil, pipes).
  • Perform necessary additional placement of eligible equipment (eg transportation costs, installation costs, consumables, components, smart system [χρονοδιακόπτη] etc.), at 50% or 60% (depending on income criteria).

Program beneficiaries are home consumers who wish to place a new technology solar water heater and/or new heat pump system.

Applications for funding are submitted by individual natural persons who reside in Greece permanently.

The solar water heater should be energy class C or better (C, B, A), with a capacity of> 110 liters. In the heat pump the energy class must be A+ or better.
