For monthly consumption up to 500kWh – for social invoice, the aid is 3.5 minutes/kWh for the total consumption
The amount of extraordinary support for electricity accounts, which relate to February consumption, was announced by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
Specifically, the aid for electricity in home invoices and for all main and non -main residence benefits, without income criteria and regardless of provider, are shaped as follows:
– For monthly consumption up to 500kWh, the reinforcement is shaped to 15 €/MWh or 1.5 minute/kWh. This category occupies 90% of households in Greece.
It is noted that the aid relate to consumers who are affiliated with floating electricity invoices.
– In households integrated into the Social Housing Invoice (CTO), the reinforcement is up to 35 €/MWh or 3.5 minutes/kWh for the whole consumption.
The total cost of aid for February is EUR 19.6 million.
It is noted that The ‘green invoice’ average price for the three largest suppliers to market share in low voltage (more than 80% of household consumption), including February subsidy, amounts to 140.6 €/MWh or 14.06 minutes/kWh and maintained at the level of the two previous months.
It is also emphasized that the average wholesale, pan -European, in the past four months is increasing. In October 2024 the average wholesale price in the EU was formed at: 82.74 €/MWh, in November 2024 at: 112.18 €/MWh, in December 2024 at: 107.61 €/MWh and in January 2025 In: 112.03 €/MWh. As for the current month, the average wholesale price in the EU is so far stood at 127.17 €/MWh. Consequently, despite the increases observed in the EU’s wholesale markets, domestic retail prices are maintained, at a constant level, for consumers.
