Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the revival of the international song “Intervision” – a Russian Eurovision, a competition organized in the Soviet era between the allied countries of the Soviet Union.

“More than 20 countries have already confirmed their participation and the number of participants continues to increase,” according to the medium.

“The main objective of the event is to draw attention to talents from countries that have been found outside the Eurovision framework for various reasons,” the organizers of the event said.

According to the decree, Intervision – Intervidenié in Russian – is expected to take place in Moscow with the aim of “developing international cultural and humanitarian cooperation”. However, it does not specify the date of the competition.

Last year, President Putin’s envoy to international cultural cooperation Michael Svintkoy had stated that the competition would take place in September 2025 And that “almost 20 countries” are ready to participate.

Some of them are members of BRICSan organization involving countries with emerging economies such as China, India and Brazil.
