Intense interest in DESFA’s auctions for the removal of reloading time in Revithousa
High demand was found during the DESFA auction process for LNG Slots landing and gasification capacity at the Revithousa LNG terminal.
The high demand, as noted in the announcement, is reflected in the fact that almost all the timers for the period 2025-2030 have already been committed, and interest is recorded by 2032. This result confirms the strategic role of the Revithousa for the energy security of Greece and its wider region, reflecting its wider region.
Increased interest in committing time to removal in Revithousa, which occurred in the midst of a period of significant rearrangements and increased instability, demonstrates the key role of the terminal station for the energy security of Greece and Southeast Europe for the following years.
Greece’s exports are expected to increase significantly in the coming years, thanks to investments to upgrade the National Gas Transmission System. Projects, such as the Karpeli – Komotini pipeline and compression stations in vineyards, Komotini and Nea Mesimvria, will further enhance the country’s export capacity to international markets.
In particular, for the year 2025, the 41 Slots offered, which correspond to the unloading of a total amount of 35 TWh, were committed. Correspondingly, at the auction for 2026, 21 of the 22 total of the time -door offered, for the unloading of 35 TWH from the total amount of 35.5 twh. For 2027, all 44 offered timers offered, which correspond to the unloading of 36.5 TWh. Correspondingly, for 2028, all 44 offered timers were committed, serving the unloading of a total amount of 35 TWh. For the year 2029, all 43 offered timers were committed to unloading 35.5 twh. For 2030, 40 of the time -door offered, corresponding to a quantity of 33.5 twh. For 2031, 20 of the timers offered, corresponding to a quantity of 19 TWh. Finally, despite the long distance, it was also interesting for 2032, with the commitment of 2 timers, totaling 2 twh.
In detail the table is as follows:
YEAR TIMES
2025 41/41 (35 TWH) 7
2026 21/22 (35 TWH) 6
2027 44/44 (36.5 TWH) 6
2028 44/44 (35 TWH) 4
2029 43/44 (35.5 TWH) 5
2030 40/43 (33.5 TWH) 5
2031 20/43 (19 TWH) 3
2032 2/43 (2 TWH) 1
Finally, it is noted that the annual landings and capacity planning process implemented by DESFA by 2020 is based on market mechanisms (auctions), ensuring the effective use of the Revithousa LNG installation in accordance with the changing conditions in the Greek and international LNG markets.
