Stock prices were under strong pressure in today’s Stock Exchange session, with the market finally maintaining above the psychological barrier of 2,000 units, from which it had initially retreated.

The market has completed four bearish sessions during which the major stock market index recorded total losses of 4.57%

The shares of PPC and Coca Cola HBC gave support to the market, while the biggest losses were recorded by the shares of OPAP, Eurobank of Cyprus and Ethniki.

The General Price Index closed today at 2,013.76 points, recording losses of 1.57%.

Intra-session recorded a lower price at 1,995.41 units (-2.46%)

The value of the transactions amounted to 322.93 million euros, while 54,622,830 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 1.62%, while the mid-cap index fell 1.10%.

Of the large-cap stocks, the biggest gains were recorded by PPC (+0.91%), Coca Cola HBC (+0.71%), Metlen (+0.28%) and Titan (+0.27%).

On the contrary, OPAP (-4.95%), Eurobank (-3.63%), Cyprus (-2.74%), Ethniki (-2.64%), Lamda Development (-2.38%) and Aegean Airlines (-2.34%) recorded the biggest fall.

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 15,029,335 and 12,250,882 shares, respectively.

The highest value of transactions was recorded by Alpha Bank with 52.47 million euros and Eurobabnk with 43.02 million euros.

22 stocks moved up, 89 fell and 14 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Centric Participations (+3.37%) and Lanakam(k) (+2.74%).

The largest decline was registered by the shares: Optronics (-9.09%) and Vogiatzoglou Systems (-5.56%).
