The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), stated that the vote on the PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) of the Precatório, which releases the increase in public spending, should be concluded at the House in November.
“We are aware of the urgency of this. I believe that, in the course of November, we will be able to appreciate it at CCJ [Comissão de Constituição e Justiça] and appraise it in the plenary session in two rounds in the Federal Senate,” he stated.
According to Pacheco, the senators are aware of the need to quickly approve the resources to make the creation of Auxílio Brasil viable.
“There is a sense of urgency in solving the precatory problem, as well as a sense of urgency in relation to the institution of a social program to replace Bolsa Família, to increase Bolsa Família and to update the value for the people who are beneficiaries” , he said.
The statements were made this Friday (12) in Lisbon, where Pacheco participated in a seminar on sustainable agribusiness organized by the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies.
Next Monday (15), still in the Portuguese capital, he will open a legal forum organized by Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court).
The president of the Senate stated that the progress of the PEC continues at a good pace despite his absence in the country. Before going to Portugal, the minister was in Glasgow, Scotland, participating in the UN climate conference.
“As soon as the PEC came to the Senate, I, even here [na Europa] participating in COP26, I determined that the PEC should be distributed to the Senate Constitution and Justice Committee,” he said.
Approved in two rounds by the Chamber of Deputies, the PEC dos Precatórios goes to the Senate as the main agenda of interest of President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) in Congress.
The proposal’s rapporteur will be the government leader in the Senate, Fernando Bezerra (MDB-PE).
