Explosive rises have recorded shares at today’s Stock Exchange meeting, with the market closing in a new high -year and a new high 14 -year -old, amid a positive climate in European markets. The focus of investment interest were the bank stocks, and especially the titles of Alpha Bank and Eurobank.

The General Price Index closed at 1,666.21 points, up 2.58%.

It is the highest closure of the meeting of 21 February 2011 (1,668.25 points).

The total market capitalization increased by EUR 3,072 billion compared to yesterday’s meeting.

The value of the transactions amounted to EUR 262.16 million, with 67,973,352 shares.

The high capitalization index rose 2.94%, while the mid -capitalization index rose 1.70%.

All the shares of high capitalization rose and the shares of Alpha Bank (+5.98%) Eurobank (+4.64%), Ethniki (+3.77%), Piraeus (+3.38%), Viohalco (+3.21%) and Titan (+3,16%).

The largest volume of trading was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank with 26,125,987 and 10,939,358 shares, respectively.

Alpha Bank with 56.33 million euros and Piraeus with € 45.46 million was the highest value of transactions.

75 shares were on the rise, 28 declining and 22 remained stable.

The shares rose the most: Cepvernous Mill (+7.22%) and Alpha Bank (+5.98%).

The biggest decline was recorded by Attica Publications (-10.00%) and Intertec (-8.97%).
