Mover, a movement of companies for racial equity started after the murder of João Alberto Silveira Freitas by security guards in the Carrefour parking lot in 2020, opens a new phase this year.
According to Marina Peixoto, executive director of Mover, a job hub will be created to focus on the movement itself the job opportunities for black professionals in the 47 companies that are currently part of the group.
Among them are Ambev, BRF, Cargill, Coca-Cola, Diageo, Danone, Disney, Gerdau, GPA, Heineken, JBS, L’Oréal, Klabin, XP and others.
The census information that needs to be carried out in each organization is also being consolidated.
The data should help monitor the fulfillment of the commitment made by Mover, to reach more than 10 thousand leadership positions occupied by black professionals by 2030 in companies.
Peixoto says that the bureaucratic process has advanced, and today the movement, which opened its headquarters at L’Oréal, in Rio, is preparing for a new phase of expansion.
“We went from being a commitment to becoming a movement. And now from a movement to an association. We went from 8 companies to 13, then 45 and now 47. And we are in conversation with others who want to join. We had some concrete actions in the last year, but now the more robust ones are coming. We are receiving the money, we want to put the car on the road”, he says.
According to her, the companies made initial donations as support for the constitution and first actions, but as of this year Mover begins to receive associative contributions.
The launch of the public notices planned in partnership with the Baobá Fund for Racial Equity should also go live this year, according to Peixoto.
“We also want to prototype some other actions, smaller if compared to the public notices, but which would be acceleration prototypes. They will combine training with vacancies. We are designing three pilots to place this year”, says Peixoto.
