The easing of the use of masks in closed places in São Paulo should boost the off-season Carnival parties this year, according to the forecast of companies in the sector.
Postponed to April because of the ômicron, the celebration is awaited by the events market, which is still trying to recover from the damage of the pandemic.
Ana Tereza Santos, president of Sympla, says that in the first 40 days of the year the number of tickets sold was 20% lower than the average for the same period in 2019.
“But with the advance of the vaccine and the improvement of the general scenario, the expectation is increasingly positive for the sector”, says the president of Sympla, which is selling tickets to parties in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Alagoas and Pernambuco .
For Bruno Sapienza, from Ingresse, this year, Brazil will have a great Carnival divided in two.
“The average ticket has increased by about 10% compared to 2019, and more are selling,” says the Ingresse executive, which has put tickets on sale for more than 15 Carnival events in São Paulo next month and more than 40 in Rio. .
“A four-day private event in São Paulo sold out. More than 12 thousand tickets, with an average value of R$ 560”, says Sapienza about a positive sample of Carnival last month.
In the capital of São Paulo, the mandatory use of masks continues only in health units, hospitals and public transport.
