Targeted actions and reinforcement of controls in order to prevent unjustified ratings and profanity In view of the Easter period, the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food are launching.

As it was confirmed, during a meeting at the Ministry of Development among the relevant ministers Takis Theodorikakos and Kostas Tsiaras, the main objective is to protect the consumer and to support Greek production.

All market data were put on the table, as well as the next moves to ensure smooth conditions in view of the holidays.

In the coming period, they will be launched reinforced checks by the competent authorities of the two ministries, both at the wholesale and retailing stage, with the aim of complying with the projected profit rate and preventing market distortions.

The two ministers have made it clear that the government would continue to closely monitor developments, aiming for an Easter table with affordable prices and without surprise for consumers.

Next week, the Ministry of Development will be issued by the Ministerial Decision on Easter basket and the products it will include as part of the effort to keep prices for the general consumer public.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Christos Kellas.
