A post on Facebook referring to tax returns was made by Kostis Hatzidakis, Vice President of the Government, stressing, among other things, that the tax administration is constantly improving. As Mr. Hatzidakis points out:

With the reform adopted since last fall, when I was in the Ministry of National Economy and Finance: the bodies, state and non -state, give all the necessary supporting documents in time. Tax returns will be made stable each year at the same time. And those who make their statements earlier will have a greater tax deduction. Already in the first 23 days, 1.1 million tax returns have been submitted. It is an increase of 150% compared to the corresponding period in 2024! And nearly 400% compared to 2023.

This is no doubt a change of example from the Greek State. Not only because the process flows smoothly and rapidly. But also because those who make faster their statements will have a greater tax deduction. And even more so, because we won a battle with the deep state, forcing the State to do the obvious! More specifically, heavy bells were provided for those who were delayed to send the necessary certificates for the submission of tax returns. Beware, not at the level of organisms, but at the level of natural persons. This played a decisive role in doing their job in time.

I feel proud to have suggested this common sense reform. The tax administration is constantly improving. She only stops asking the taxpayer, but she also takes care of her obligations and reward the consistent!
