The government of São Paulo announced this Thursday (24) a discount of R$ 0.35 per liter of S-10 diesel.
According to the State Treasury Department, the measure indicates that there will be no increase in the ICMS charged for at least 12 months.
The announcement comes after the definition of Confaz (National Council of Finance Policy) on a single rate of ICMS on diesel that will have a maximum limit of R$ 1.006 in the country.
Each state will also be able to grant a kind of tax benefit to make fuel cheaper, as São Paulo will do.
The new rates take effect on July 1. Until then, the ICMS charge on fuels will continue to be made on the reference prices practiced in November of last year.
