The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, is currently going to Paris for the Ministerial Conference of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
The central theme of the Ministerial Conference is the finding new “tools»With the aim of one durable and sustainable global developmentthat will be based on investment and innovation. The focus will be the strategies to restructure trade and to tackle economic, energy and environmental crises. The OECD’s international role, the exploitation of the digital economy and international cooperation for the governance of artificial intelligence will also be considered.
The Minister will participate in the Ministerial Plenary on discussion of the findings and policy recommendations of the OECD Economic Perspectives Report (OECD Economic Outlook). Kyriakos Pierrakakis will intervene at the meeting “World Relations and Expanding the OECD”. Member States and the EU will discuss the further dissemination of OECD optimum practices, focusing on enlargement and processes of accession to the organization.
The Minister will be a lead speaker at a special ministerial meeting on the reinforcement of digital economy. The discussion will examine the possibilities of utilizing the private investment to digital economyin particular, direct foreign investment, and there will be good practices on reforms and policies that promote innovation.
In the framework of the OECD Ministerial Conference, Mr. Pierrakakis will meet with OECD Secretary -General Matthias Korman.
