Beijing will continue to enhance the control and approval of export applications for rare land products, said He Yadong, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, on 12 June. The statement was made during a scheduled press conference, with Hence answering a question.

In application of the laws and regulations in force, China examined and approved a certain number of export licenses for rare land products.

The relevant approvals were given after rationalizing demands of demand, as well as the concerns in different countries, regarding the use of rare earths for political purposes.

Upward trend for China’s foreign trade amid international challenges

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on June 12 that the country’s foreign trade is demonstrating resilience and dynamism so far within the year we are in, despite the complex external environment, with progress being recorded both on the quality scale and in the trade of goods.

Specifically, in the first five months of 2025, according to China’s spokesman for the same ministry:

  • Increased its trade with the countries of the “one zone, one road” by 4.2%,
  • With the countries of ASEAN (Union of Southeast Asia) by 9.1%, and
  • With the countries of Africa by 12.4%.

The above shows that China’s commercial network is increasingly different with the growing markets playing a leading role in the gradually increasing economic growth of the above -mentioned geographical areas, HW said during a scheduled press conference.
