Wealth increased disproportionately last year in the US, with more than 379,000 people becoming new millionaires in US dollars, with the increase being rapidly – more than 1,000 new millionaires per day – according to a report.

The amount of net wealth of individuals increased by 4.6% worldwide and by at least 11% in the US, partly caused by the stable US dollar and the positive image of stock markets, according to the world wealth report on 2025 drawn up by the UBS.

At the global level, the US had almost 40% of millionaires in 2024.

In 2023 Europe, the Middle East and Africa were leading a trend of world wealth recovery after the decline recorded in 2022.

The broader China, which the exhibition describes as the mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, was at the top with the most millionaires with a net wealth of $ 100,000 to a million or otherwise a millionaire ratio. Western Europe followed 25.4% and North America with 20.9%.

The majority of people worldwide are below this threshold, however, with over 80% of adults in the UBS sample having a net wealth of less than $ 100,000.

In total, almost 1.6% has a net wealth of $ 1 million or more, according to the report.

Over the next five years, the Swiss bank predicts that average property per adult will increase further and the list will lead the US with the wider China to a lesser extent.
