The cost -benefit study for the Cyprus – Israeli section, which is the second branch of the Greece – Cyprus – Israel, Great Sea Interconnector, was presented by ADMIE as a project promoter of the project, to the competent regulators of Cyprus (RAEK) and Israel (PUA). Representative of the Commission’s General Directorate of Energy.
The study, prepared by Exergia in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), which had also undertaken the corresponding study of the other part of the GSI, Crete – Cyprus, confirms the significant benefits of the project for the two countries that interconnects the project, Cyprus and Israel.
By the end of July, ADMIE will submit a complete file to the two countries’ relevant regulatory authorities with the official investment request, in order to issue a joint decision on the CBCA (Cross-Border Cost Allocation), which relates to the cost of the costs between the states and the provision of the project.
These procedures are the first crucial step in maturing the project, in accordance with the European Regulation of TEN-E, in order to formulate the necessary regulatory framework that will ensure its income and then its construction begins.
