“At the TIF we will announce a reduction in direct taxes,” said government vice -president Kostis Hatzidakis, speaking on Monday on SKAI television.

Asked if he sees with interest the possibility of Alexis Tsipras’ return to active politics, Mr Hatzidakis replied that “there is an interest, but not great, as I do not see major political upheavals.”

“If it is a party, there will be developments in the center -left,” he added, noting that the current opposition is not doing good in the country or in the New Democracy.

He then referred to 25 different medium and large reforms that will run in the second half of 2025. “One reform per week,” he noted.

Also, as he said there is a dysfunction, not only in Greece but not in Europe.

He noted that there is precision but at the same time noted the positive reduction of unemployment, tourism, digitization and tax evasion.

Direct tax reduction

At the TIF “we will announce a reduction in direct taxes that will relieve citizens’ pockets,” Kostis Hatzidakis said.

Reductions will be more concerned with natural persons and in particular the middle class.

In addition, Mr. Hatzidakis stressed: “There can be no 13th and 14th salaries and 13th and 14th pension, because if we do so abruptly this is 8 billion.”

About Change of electoral lawMr Hatzidakis commented that there were statements by the prime minister and that he is not in the government’s intentions.

“As the prime minister has told me, elections will be held in the spring of 2027 with the current electoral law,” he concluded.
