Billionaire Elon Musk must be the first person on the planet to reach a fortune of 1 trillion dollars. The mark will be reached in 2024, according to projections by payments company Tipaldi Approve.
The company analyzed the fortunes of 30 of the richest people in the world. Of these, 21 seemed capable of reaching the trillion in life. The forecast is based on how much money they currently have and the growth rate of their wealth over the past six years.
Elon Musk, owner of Tesla and SpaceX, is already considered the richest man in the world, with an estimated fortune of US$ 263 billion. Since 2017, his holdings have increased by 129% a year on average. If that pace continues, Musk could hit $1.38 trillion in just two years, at age 52.
Also according to the analysis done by Tipaldi Approve, the next to reach the trillion should be Gautam Adani, the founder of the commodity trading company Adani Group. He is projected to become a trillionaire in 2025, at age 62.
In third place is Zhang Yiming, advisor and founder of ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, which is considered the most valuable startup in the world. His fortune will reach the 13th digit in 2026 at the age of 42. He will therefore be the youngest trillionaire in the world.
Tipaldi Approve predicts it will be around three years before the next trillionaire joins the top three. And the first woman to reach fortune will not do so until 2036.
