The announcements to increase the child allowance that took place 1 year ago but have never been implemented, the Prime Minister comes out of the drawer ahead of this year’s TIF: the plan as analyzed in Thessaloniki in September 2024, provided for the adjustment of the A21 -year -olds. However, this plan has entered the ice for this year, but as it all seems to be back.
After all, the main orientation of the Maximus Grand, regarding the announcements that will be made at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition, is to strengthen the Greek family with the “background” of course the challenges arising from the demographic. In this context, the plan announced last year is expected to be activated – albeit differentiated – but eventually entered the drawer.
What has fallen on the table for the A21 Children Allowance
In essence, there are two scenarios on the table right now: The one scenario He says that instead of this year the amounts will be adjusted next year, that is, in 2026 and the increases will be given as such as the original plan.
This predicted:
– Increase in the first income scale from 70 to 75 euros per month for each child.
– Increase in the second scale to 45 euros, from 42 euros in force today.
– Integration of the second with the third income scale, resulting in families who have so far received 28 euros a month seeing 45 euros in their accounts for each child. For a third child or more, the aid was to be 90 euros.
Specifically, for the 3rd scale beneficiaries this increase was described as “brave” as the amounts would be adjusted by about 60%.
So, based on one scenario, these increases that were to be activated this year are finally transferred to 2026 and will be announced … again by the Prime Minister to the TIF this September.
And… alternative suggestions for child allowance
The other scenario For what will happen, it says that the “brave” adjustment of the amounts for the beneficiaries of the third scale of the child allowance has completely gone off the table!
New alternative proposals are being examined that will increase relative amounts … but on a more rational basis.
Based on the new plan that fell to the table, the income for the first -scale child allowance may rise up to 12,000 euros (instead of 10,500 euros today) with analogous adjustment of the other scales: for example, to receive a child allowance for a child. Those who have an income of up to 30,000 euros (instead of 26,250 euros now), for two children Those who have income of up to 35,000 euros (instead of up to 30,000 euros now), for three children receiving allowance Those who have income of up to 40,000 euros (instead of 37,500 euros now) and so on.
In this way, families at the limits of each scale will find themselves to receive higher reinforcement than they get today.
In any case, successive meetings are held in order to find the funds needed to implement the Prime Minister’s promises.
