Waiters at a UK pizzeria chain got into an arm wrestling match with the kitchen staff to get back the percentage of the tips they had to share with colleagues in the pandemic.
According to the union that broke the deadlock, Pizza Express professionals agreed to end the rule that 50% of tips paid by card must be offered to kitchen staff.
Waiters have returned to receiving 70% of all tips, leaving 30% to kitchen workers.
They argued that they should keep a larger share because they are paid less for the hour they work than their colleagues.
