The bottlenecks in hiring qualified labor in the construction sector have intensified in recent months, according to a survey carried out by the CBIC (Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry) in February.
Almost 90% of companies say they are having difficulty recruiting. In the October survey of last year, they were 77%.
The problem mainly affects small companies, says the entity.
For 82% of them, it is difficult to hire bricklayers. There is also a lack of construction management professionals, such as masters and supervisors, as well as carpenters. Barriers to recruiting engineers are lower.
