The assumption of new legislative initiatives to support the Region of Western Macedonia and the wider area of ​​Megalopolis, that is, the areas affected by the apolitical program is requested by the Deputy Prime Minister, Kostis Hatzidakis, in a letter to all the relevant ministers.

Mr Hatzidakis points out that the economic and socially just transition of these areas to the next day is a top priority of the government.

In this context, already:
-The fair transition plan has been destroyed and implemented.
-Specific initiatives such as indicative: doubling in public recruitment location, special treatment for the IP. Kozani in the Development Law, the subordination of the Region of Western Macedonia to the highest allocation of resources in the Rural Development Program.

The government’s vice president stresses that the government’s intention is to further strengthen the effort. “Therefore,” it notes in the letter, “where this is possible, it is important in any legislative initiative that you take as ministers, consistently integrated, special positive measures to support the Western Macedonia Region and the wider area of ​​Megalopolis.

The aim is to integrate the logic of fair transition to the planning and legislative work of the government through regulations that enhance growth and social cohesion in the region. “
