The new revision to the National Recovery Plan “Greece 2.0” (all member states are making similar moves) may rise to the amount of 800-900 million euros, which should be submitted by the end of this month. The submission to the EU for the seventh payment request will follow in the first days of December, as Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis pointed out in a press conference.
Regarding the financial part of the Recovery Fund, Mr. Papathanasis estimated that the sixth request for payment will be submitted within the year and an effort will be made to submit the seventh request in the first months of 2026, together with the eighth request for subsidies.
He also expressed optimism that all the loans of the Recovery Fund will be used, despite the delays recorded, pointing out that “it is too early to talk about alternatives”.
For the projects financed by the Recovery Fund, the deputy minister said that those that will not be completed by the necessary deadlines will be included and will be financed by the NSRF, or by the new community financing tools such as the Decarbonization Fund or even by national resources. Especially for BOAK, Mr. Papathanasis noted that 90% of the section financed by the Recovery Fund will be completed on time.
In any case, he pointed out, there is an overcommitment in the “Greece 2.0” projects and other actions that “flow” better than expected will be increased so that funds are not lost. “We will make all the necessary changes, with our main goal not to lose a single euro of the subsidies of the Recovery Fund”, emphasized Mr. Papathanasis.
