Memorandum of Cooperation signed on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, by the Rector Pantheon University of Social and Political SciencesProfessor Christina Koulouri and its President Capital Market Commission, Vasiliki Lazarakou.

As announced, this collaboration consolidates a framework of understanding and exchange of know-how between Panteion University and the Capital Market Commission, with the aim of strengthening the interconnection of the academic community with the financial and supervisory sector. The two parties, recognizing the importance of scientific knowledge, integrity and transparency for the functioning of markets, join forces to promote financial literacy, innovation and sustainable development.

The Memorandum of Cooperation aims to create a stable channel of communication between the two entities, promoting, among other things:

– the joint development and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the fields of finance, market regulation and supervision, corporate governance, sustainable finance and technological innovation.

– conducting joint research projects and policy studies (policy papers), exchanging data where permitted by applicable law, as well as publishing results for the benefit of science and the market.

– strengthening financial literacy and informing the public with joint campaigns, events and open lectures.

– the organization of conferences, workshops and networks for the exchange of good practices with the participation of academics, supervisory authorities and market players.

– supporting informed policy-making through the use of scientific findings and international standards.

– the provision of specialized advisory services by faculty members to the Capital Market Commission on individual issues that will be mutually agreed upon, in accordance with the current institutional framework, the rules of ethics and the regulations on conflict of interest and confidentiality.

– the support of the education and training of executives of the Capital Market Commission, through courses, seminars, workshops, and certification programs.

– the interface with practice through internships/student placements, collaborations with supervised bodies and innovation pilot actions.

Through these actions, the two-way flow of knowledge and experience between academic research and supervisory practice will be strengthened.

This cooperation is expected to contribute substantially to the improvement of the quality of regulation and supervision of the Greek capital market, utilizing scientific data and international standards, with the ultimate goal of transparency, investor protection and strengthening public confidence in the markets. At the same time, it will strengthen the extroversion of Panteion University, encouraging the production of new knowledge and its application in real policy and market fields.

As the Rector of Panteion University Professor Christina Koulouri and the President of the Capital Market Commission Vasiliki Lazarakou pointed out during the signing ceremony, the Memorandum of Cooperation marks another step in the coupling of science with regulation and supervision, promoting the principles of transparency, responsibility and social progress.

This agreement lays the foundations for a long-term collaboration with multiple educational, social and economic benefits, contributing to the development of a modern, fair and sustainable financial environment for the benefit of Greek society and economy.
