GOL Linhas Aéreas announced this Wednesday (6) that during the “Wings of Change”, an IATA (International Air Transport Association) event, in Santiago, its participation in the 25by2025, global aviation industry initiative to increase female participation in the sector.
At GOL, the topic has been highlighted in recent years. Currently, the company has 35.29% of its leadership positions held by women, in roles such as coordination and above. There are 30.96% among coordinators, 46.27% in management positions, 23.33% among directors and 25% in the vice presidency. There are still 30% female participation in C-Level positions.
“These data, despite showing a positive direction for our company in this matter, also show us that there are many opportunities for improvement, especially in areas where historically female participation is reduced, such as maintenance, technical crew, among others”, he says. Carolina Trancucci, product and customer relationship director at GOL, one of the company’s representatives at the IATA event in the Chilean capital.
By joining 25by2025, GOL is committed to increasing female representation in senior roles within the organization and in areas where women are traditionally underrepresented. Progress will be shared annually at the IATA World Air Transport Summit. IATA has also created a forum to share best practices and ideas for airlines to exchange experiences.
