Panel SA: Inflation leads consumers to give up traditional Easter products, says Reclame Aqui

by

Inflation seems to have taken away consumer excitement about Easter this year, according to Reclame Aqui.

A survey by the consumer protection website carried out with around 13,500 users between April 6 and 8 shows that 92% did not even dare to do a price survey.

Reclame Aqui states that this lack of interest in looking for a bargain is reinforced by the fact that 87% of them assess that the prices of all inputs are much more expensive this year.

Almost 54% of those who are finding the values high say that they intend to make another type of meal, leaving aside the traditional Easter products. Another 30% say they will only take a few items off their shopping list.

In the portion of those who consider that prices have risen, the products perceived as more expensive are chocolates (22%) and vegetables (18%).

Among Easter products, the perception of an increase in value also affects cod and fish (16%), olive oil (15%), preserves (15%) and drinks (13%).
