The energy crisis, which raised electricity bills, and the home office, which made residents invest more in their homes, were two of the main reasons for the growth in the production of solar heaters in 2021.
According to data from Abrasol (Brazilian Thermal Solar Energy Association), the increase was 28% compared to the previous year. In all, 1.81 million square meters of heaters were produced, used to replace electric showers.
The sector also sees the participation of civil construction, which experienced a new cycle of expansion in 2021, as another factor in improving turnover.
The Southeast region was responsible for 54% of sales of solar heaters. For 2022, the sector’s expectation is to grow at least 30%.
