‘There is always risk’, says Lira about the chance of increasing Auxílio Brasil in a provisional measure

by

The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Artur Lira (PP-AL), acknowledged this Tuesday (19) that there is a possibility of increasing the value of Auxílio Brasil during the discussion of a provisional measure in the House on the subject.

Edited in 2021, the MP, which has the force of law, enabled an extraordinary benefit that, added to Auxílio Brasil, grants subscribers a minimum of R$ 400 until the end of 2022.

“There is always risk,” the deputy told journalists, adding that there has not yet been a meeting on this subject, but that the topic will be handled responsibly by peers.

“It will be guided normally”, he said, referring to the MP. “I think next week,” he added.

The discussion of the measure takes place in an environment already contaminated by the electoral debate and has strong popular appeal in the midst of economic difficulties and high prices.

Lira also commented that he has already spoken with the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), and that both are awaiting the appointment of members for the composition of the CMO (Mixed Budget Committee). The collegiate, made up of deputies and senators, is responsible for analyzing matters such as the LDO (Budget Guidelines Law) of 2023, which has already been sent to Congress.

According to the rules, the Legislature must analyze the LDO until July 17, or it cannot go into parliamentary recess.
