The Union welcomes the overall increase of 10%, as the minimum wage will be € 713, while the Adjusting the increase to three years will strengthen households. “Although businesses incur additional costs, the next day will find them more competitive, as boosting disposable consumer income will stimulate the market,” he said.
At the same time, KEE emphasizes that the business community expects support measures to reduce energy costs and reduce VAT on food, measures for which the Government is keeping in its quiver. “The relevant intervention will has an impact on the final prices of the products, for the benefit of the market and the private economy, while at the same time households will be relieved. Compensation to the budgetary cost will be the development course of the companies. Entrepreneurs also expect – if there is fiscal space – that employers’ contributions will be further reduced, as stated by the Prime Minister. “This move will benefit businesses and employees.”
“We agree with the increase of the minimum wage, which will strengthen the real economy and the disposable income of the employees,” said Giannis Masoutis, president of the Central Union of Greek Chambers and the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
