In a new decision, now definitive, the ANS (National Agency for Supplementary Health) canceled the transfer of the portfolio of individual beneficiaries from Amil to the APS operator, of Grupo Amil, made at the turn of the year.
The decision was reiterated by the Collegiate Board of the regulatory agency at a meeting this Friday (29).
“With the declaration of nullity of the decision that authorized the transfer of the portfolio from Amil to APS, the transfer of the portfolio no longer has the legal and necessary support of the ANS, and therefore, the APS must immediately return the portfolio to Amil “, says the agency in a note.
Operators have 20 days to communicate the reintegration to the beneficiaries. According to the agency, there are more than 300 thousand beneficiaries in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná.
ANS says it made the decision after realizing that APS would not be able to autonomously manage the acquired portfolio. Also according to the agency, this would jeopardize the continuity and quality of assistance to consumers.
