by

The new National Energy Support Plan to deal with the increases in electricity bills is being worked on intensively by the government, with the Prime Minister announcing its activation in June. Speaking to SKAI, the Deputy Minister of Interior Stelios Petsas posted the announcements for the National Plan within May.
The government is determined to implement its plan to reduce energy costs even without the “parliament” of Brussels. All the information speaks of a decisive intervention that will significantly reduce the electricity and gas bills.

The government’s goal is to bring retail prices closer to pre-crisis levels, and that is why it is studying various scenarios. From the ceiling at the wholesale price, to even and the abolition of the adjustment clause in the form it has today.

“Such interventions, such as a technocratic algorithm such as the adjustment clause, operate in normal conditions. We do not have conditions of normalcy here, that is why extraordinary interventions are needed “, stressed Mr. Petsas. “The prime minister has said that we will continue to support households and businesses for as long as necessary,” he added.

Until the national plan goes into effect in June, subsidies for electricity and gas will continue in May.

“I will announce a package of proposals in May and, even if it is not adopted at the European Council, they will be valid from June. “We are exhausting the full range of possibilities that the Budget gives us in order to support our fellow citizens in a socially just way,” he stressed. Mr. Mitsotakis.

And measures on the shelf accuracy

The national plan being drafted by the government will include measures and to be exact on the shelf. Among other things, a new check of accuracy is being examined, while the temporary reduction of VAT on some foods has not left the table.

The increase of the minimum wage to 713 euros will act as a supplement to the income of thousands of consumers.
