Star Wars fans who are dressed as characters from the franchise will have priority boarding this Wednesday (4) on Alaska Airlines, in the United States. The action takes place to celebrate the date, on which Star Wars Day is celebrated.

According to the company’s statement, made on Monday (2), people dressed as characters from the franchise’s universe, such as the jedis, the siths, members of the clone troops, the rebel alliance, or even as the characters Darth will have preferential boarding. Vader and Han Solo, the pilot of the Millennium Falcon played by actor Harrison Ford in the movie.

Anyone wearing a t-shirt with characters will also be entitled to the benefit.

The origin of the celebration on May 4 comes from a pun. In English, the date (may the fourth) sounds similar to the famous Star Wars phrase “may the force be with you”, which means “may the force be with you”.

In Brazil and around the world, the day is celebrated by fans with movie marathons, cosplayers meeting and themed parties.

People dressed up will board after group B, one in reference to Bobba Fett. The character is an armored mercenary introduced to viewers in 1980’s “The Empire Strikes Back”, the first sequel to the original “Star Wars”.
