Embraer’s Eve presents a plan to use a flying car in Rio de Janeiro

by

Eve, an Embraer company, published this Wednesday (4th) the Conops (Operations Concept) for the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) future market in Rio de Janeiro. In the document, there are guidelines for your electric aircraft, also known as a flying car, to be used in the city.

The initiative is a pioneer in Brazil, covering data, analyses, points of attention and operational needs of eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing, or electric vertical take-off and landing). Eve also brings points about the user journey, services and support.

The concept of the action was developed through cooperation with eleven strategic partners and government entities, such as Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency) and the concessionaire RIOgaleão.

Luiz Mauad, Eve’s vice president of services and fleet operations, says that the document brings a better understanding of the characteristics and challenges of this mode of transport.

“We have information so that the ecosystem can not only adapt, but also develop with solutions that will guarantee an expansion in a safe and sustainable way”, he says.

The Conops concept included a period of flight operations carried out in November last year, connecting Barra da Tijuca to the Tom Jobim international airport and simulating the UAM ecosystem using a helicopter.

The document is available for access on Eve’s website. The company also encourages interested parties to send suggestions and comments to [email protected].
