‘Bolsa das Favelas’ starts to connect investors and entrepreneurs

by

As of this Friday (19), investors have a new alternative to allocate part of their capital, with the debut in the Brazilian market of “Bolsa das Favelas”.

The result of a partnership between the G10 Favelas association, which brings together the largest favelas in the country, and the digital platform DIVI•hub, the project will allow investors to allocate part of their capital to private businesses generated within the favelas.

The market’s new Stock Exchange starts its activities by offering two businesses: Favela Brasil Express and G10 Bank.

G10 Bank was born this year and aims to be a digital bank dedicated to financing micro-entrepreneurs in communities. Favela Brasil Express, on the other hand, has the proposal to act where conventional applications cannot reach, serving eight favelas across Brazil, such as Paraisópolis, in São Paulo, and Rocinha, in Rio de Janeiro.

The initial ticket is R$10, and the investment will be made through the issuance of a bond called “DIVI”, which grants the investor the right to a share in the business, with the expectation of receiving income based on revenues or profits.

Due to the characteristics of the transaction, the asset holder may also trade it with other investors without the intermediation of third parties or through the platform.

DIVI•hub has permission from the CVM (Securities Commission) to operate in the market as an electronic platform for participatory investment.

“Everyone will be able to own a little piece of a G10 Favelas project and receive income back for it,” said the president of DIVI•hub, Ricardo Wendel, in a statement.

He added that the remuneration obtained by the company with the operation will be donated to the G10 Favelas for the purchase of basic food baskets.

“We are celebrating Favela Day, and nothing is more representative than showing all our business potential that not only generate income and employment for the people of the favela, but will also generate income for anyone who wants to be our partner,” he said. the president of the G10 Favelas, Gilson Rodrigues, referring to the date commemorated on November 4th.
