Panel SA: Child Influencer Takes Conar Warning

by

Child blogger Juju Teofilo received a warning from Conar (National Advertising Self-Regulation Council) after publishing a video on social networks with products from the children’s line of the Baruel brand.

In the video, Juju Teofilo asks her mother about taking care of her daughter. “I take good care of this little blogger. I wash her hair every day, cut her nails, apply moisturizer. I wash her hair with Baruel Baby, which is the shampoo and cream that Juju uses every day and that doesn’t hurt her eye”, replies the mother.

According to Conar, the original content posted on the internet was not properly marked as advertising. The agency claims that it warned Juju Teofilo so that the blogger can more clearly inform her paid partnerships on social networks. Conar also asked her to add signaling to the video.

Juju Teofilo has around 2.4 million followers on Instagram. The profile points out that the blogger gives kids fashion tips and that the account is managed by family members.

Sought by Panel SA, Baruel says that the company and the agency responsible for hiring influencers guide those hired to sign advertising.

Juju Teofilo’s press office claims that the blogger and her team followed Conar’s guidelines, respected the warning given by the agency and that the post was changed.
