The undersecretary for Agricultural Policy and Environment at the Ministry of Economy, Rogério Boueri, will be the new head of the Ministry’s Special Advisory for Strategic Affairs after Adolfo Sachsida was appointed minister of Mines and Energy, a source in the ministry with knowledge of the matter said.
According to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Boueri’s name has already been approved by the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes.
Boueri, with whom Sachsida is close, holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Maryland in the United States.
The departure of Sachsida to the command of the Ministry of Mines and Energy in place of Bento Albuquerque, published this Wednesday (11) in the Official Gazette, signals an alignment of the portfolio with the Ministry of Economy under Guedes.
Defender of liberalism, Sachsida advises President Jair Bolsonaro on economic issues even before Guedes joined the team in 2018.
