Panel SA: BNDES launches marketplace for infrastructure projects in Latin America

by

BNDES’ director of concessions and privatizations, Fábio Abrahão, presented to investment funds and financial institutions in New York this Wednesday (11) the new unified platform that will gather data from infrastructure projects from different Latin American countries in the same place, called marketplace.

It will be the Latam Projects Hub, which will show concession projects, public-private partnerships and privatizations in the region.

For Abrahão, positioning Brazilian assets alongside other projects in the region generates a clearer view of the sector for investors and facilitates the identification of synergies in different operations in the region.

“We had the initial support of the IDB and other banks in the region because it became clear that we are in a global competition in which information and transparency are fundamental to attract capital”, he says.

The bank uses as an example the case of the Brazilian CCR, which recently took the South block in the 7th Round of airport concessions and operates the terminals in Quito (Ecuador), San José (Costa Rica) and Curaçao in the region. French company Vinci, which operates Salvador airport and recently took the North Block, in the 7th Round, is also responsible for terminals in the Dominican Republic and Chile, says BNDES.

The site is supported by the IDB, Banobras de México and Alide (an association that brings together development banks in Latin America).
