Waiting for the regulation of telemedicine in Brazil, companies in the sector raise numbers to show the consolidation of the practice during the pandemic.
Even with the cooling of Covid, the expectation is that, throughout 2022, more than 30 million people will stop looking for the emergency room and emergency care to replace it with telemedicine. The projection is from Associação Saúde Digital Brasil, which represents telehealth service providers in the country.
According to the entity, last year, the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Porto Alegre made 20,000 remote consultations and, of these, only 300 required an appointment in person.
The telehealth bill was already approved by the Chamber of Deputies in April and is on the Senate agenda.
