8 million will have to re-register Auxílio Brasil and BPC; see what to do

by

A total of 8 million beneficiaries of Auxílio Brasil, TSEE (Social Electricity Tariff) and BPC (Benefício de Prestação Continuada) registered in CadÚnico (Cadastro Único) will undergo registration verification or review, according to information from the Ministry of Citizenship. .

The procedures, which were suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic, went back into effect this year. By law, families registered in CadÚnico must update the information every two years or whenever there is any change in the family composition, address or work and income of any of the members.

In the case of cadastral verification, the procedure must involve citizens who have discrepancies between data from CadÚnico and other government databases. Altogether, about 6.6 million beneficiaries must undergo verification. In the case of the review, the measure involves 1.4 million that receive BPC.

Citizens who were included in the cadastral investigation have until the month of July to regularize the situation, according to Citizenship. Otherwise, they may lose the benefit. The deadline for BPC beneficiaries who need to undergo the review goes until December. After that, they can also have their income cut.

BPC review is limited. According to the ministry, beneficiaries who last underwent the procedure in 2016 and 2017 are being summoned. Those who underwent a review in 2018 and 2019 will only be summoned next year.

In a note, the ministry states that “registration updating is essential to ensure the quality of the data and ensure that the information recorded in the Single Registry is always in accordance with the reality of families”.

What to do

The citizen receives a notice that he or she needs to undergo the review or verification. Auxílio Brasil families will receive messages on the benefit payment statement and through the program application.

TSEE beneficiaries, on the other hand, can receive communications by message on the electricity bill. There are two ways to update your data, through the CadÚnico app and through the cadunico.dataprev.gov.br website. Citizens can try to access the site using their personal data or through the gov.br portal password.

If not, you will have to look for one of the offices responsible for the registration in your municipality. The person responsible for the update is responsible for the family unit.

The Ministry of Citizenship claims that the Cadastro Único app is one of the easiest tools for updating. There, you can check if the data is correct.

If there has been no change in the information provided in the last interview, the family can update the data through the Cadastro Único application, just confirming the data. However, if any data is to be changed, it is necessary to attend a registration post for a new registration update interview.
