Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler, 74, had a drug relapse and voluntarily checked himself into rehab. Because of this, the band had to cancel some shows.
Through the band’s social media, fans were able to learn through a statement that Tyler was dealing with a foot problem when he relapsed.
“As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years. After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and needing pain management in the process, he recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a program treatment”, says part of the report.
The band had a series of shows in Las Vegas between June and July, but now there will be no more shows until the leader of the group feels ready to return. They apologized to the fans and said that the idea is to continue with the tour from September.
This isn’t the first time Aerosmith has had to cancel events because of Steven Tyler. In 2019, the band canceled shows after the musician lost his voice. Coincidentally, the venue for the rockers was Las Vegas.
“I lost my voice, but I can’t talk about it anymore,” the band’s vocalist wrote at the time, not giving details if it was a recurring thing or if it was a health issue. Additionally, in his message, Tyler wrote that ticket refunds could be made at the locations where they were purchased.
