Starring in a soap opera and dealing with fame in the age of social networks is no easy task, even more so being her first work on television. This is the challenge for Victoria Rossetti, 23, who plays the intense Nayara in “Pantanal” (Globo). Despite enjoying the attention and approaches on the street, the actress says the experience is somewhat intimidating.
In the plot, she plays an impetuous young woman who approaches the influencer Madeleine (Karine Teles) in an attempt to stay with her son, Jove (JesuÃta Barbosa). But disillusionment comes in a double dose with the young man’s rejection and the distance from his then mentor. As a result, Nayara decides to step away from social media and take charge of her life.
This Wednesday (25), the character’s life will take new directions, with an invitation from Gustavo (Caco Ciocler) for the two to take a trip together after he discovers Madeleine’s death. For Rossetti, approaching people’s relationship with social networks makes the telenovela, a remake of 1990’s “Pantanal”, even more current.
Like Nayara, her interpreter believes that she should also stay away from the networks. “I push myself a lot through Instagram, and I see my anxiety increase when I’m interacting more,” she says. For the actress, social networks impose an ideal full of unattainable clippings that inflate users’ ego.
“This makes us have less contact with real, everyday experience. Where there are more mistakes and eventualities”, he adds. Rossetti says that this is reflected even in current relationships, which, despite having less moralism and modesty, also become more uncertain since “[um relacionamento] It’s not the click, it’s the actual experience”.
Before the soap opera, the actress participated for 10 years in her school’s circus – between the ages of 9 and 19 – and was in the series “Psi” (HBO), at 17. But it was her debut on TV, boosted by social networks, that put him on the threshold of success. “It’s a strange thing. I was living normally, anonymously, and suddenly there’s a lot of visibility,” she says.
“It’s a little intimidating, although I like it a lot. But the comments on the internet are very painful”, she says, who declares her admiration for influencers and content creators, who then migrate to artistic productions. For her, knowing how to deal with viewers can be an advantage when starting a career in acting.
“Judging influencers who want to be actors would be hypocritical of me as an actress”, she comments, citing the controversy between Samantha Schmütz and Juliette Freire. “Who are we to say that the other is not an artist? I think it’s unfair.” However, she reinforces that acting requires study and dedication, and that the artistic class ends up being devalued with digital influencers acting.
“Being an actor is being committed to the exercise of reaching out to another soul”, she adds, who was inspired by her sister, actress Samantha Rossetti, 25, and the soundtrack of the soap opera “Joia Rara” (Globo, 2013) to enter on the branch. “At the age of 14 I entered a technical course [de teatro].”
For the future of the plot, the actress says that she sees a real relationship between Nayara and Gustavo, leaving aside the place of use or status, and that the character will be able to enjoy more experiences without being so connected to the networks. “She was mistreating herself already.”
