Model Kate Moss testified in favor of Johnny Depp this Wednesday morning (25), in the media trial of the lawsuit that the actor is moving against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Moss attended the video hearing and emphatically denied that she was pushed down the stairs by her then-boyfriend during a trip to Jamaica in the 1990s, as Amber had hinted in her earlier testimony.
“He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down the stairs,” he said. According to Moss, she slipped on the steps and was promptly picked up by Depp. “We were leaving the room, and Johnny got out before me. It was raining a lot, a storm, and I slipped on the wet steps and hurt my back,” she said.
“I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened, I was in pain,” the model continued. According to her testimony, Depp carried her to her room and helped tend to her injuries. Moss’ testimony confirmed the expectations of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor’s lawyers.
Moss and Depp dated from 1994 to 1997, and during this period there was a rumor – never confirmed by her – that he pushed her down a flight of stairs in an argument. Depp’s defense cheered when Heard, 36, suddenly mentioned Moss during his testimony weeks ago. According to the NY Post, they even “clapped their hands” at this time.
Heard detailed yet another fight between the two, and said that in March 2015, she punched Depp in the face for fear he would push her sister Whitney down the stairs. Heard said that she immediately thought of “Kate Moss and the stairs”.
The model was not originally expected to attend the trial, but the mention of Heard paved the way for Depp’s team to call her to testify and thus clear up the stairwell story once and for all, dispel the rumor and challenge Depp’s statements. Amber.
The actor is suing Heard for defamation, asking for $50 million over an article she wrote in The Washington Post in which she claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse.
She sued him back, asking for double that amount.
