“Bomb” in Bosnia: Bosnian Serbs demand dismantling of the country

by

Bosnian Serb Milorad Dodik, member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina tripartite presidency representing the Republika Srpska, calls for “peaceful dissolution” of the country, saying it has no future.

Dodik, who has repeatedly made separatist threats over the past decade, spoke to reporters in Banja Luka, the capital of the Republika Srpska, one of Bosnia’s two autonomous entities, along with the Federation of Bosniaks and Croats.

Dodik complained about the efforts of Bosniaks, most of whom are Slavic Muslims, to dominate Serbs and Croats, whom he described as “Muslim nationalism”.

“It’s time to dump her and move on the mechanism of peaceful dissolution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, “he said, adding that once this process was completed, everyone could” live in peace “.

THE Bosnian war in 1992-95 began when the Serbs refused to recognize the country’s independence from Yugoslavia and created their own “ethnic cleansed territory”.

The 1995 peace agreement created Bosnia and Herzegovina as a loose union of the two entities, with a weak central government and cumbersome structures at all levels.

Dodik, who has been repeatedly sanctioned by the US government for undermining peace efforts and the rule of law, is an ardent supporter of Moscow and has refused to approve Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to international sanctions.

The country is going to hold general elections on October 2, despite protests from Croats, who argue that the current election law targets them as the smallest of the three ethnic groups.
