The “Tree of Trees” is ready for Elizabeth’s Jubilee

Its living branches are supported by 350 living trees, which give the project its name: “Tree of Trees”

It was completed outside of Buckingham Palace the sculpture by Heatherwick Studio which contains 350 trees and is ready to celebrate the Jubilee of Elizabeth of England. In the shape of a giant tree, the 21-meter-high sculpture was designed to draw attention to a tree-planting campaign, thus marking the 70 years of Elizabeth’s reign.

Its living branches are supported by 350 living trees, which give the project its name: “Tree of Trees”. Around the central steel structure of the sculpture, steel tubes rotate and extend outward to form “branches”. In the “branches”, in aluminum cans, 350 different species of trees found throughout Britain

After the celebrations, the “Tree of Trees” will be dismantled and the trees will be stored before donated to communities across the country to be planted in October. The tree planting program in which the sculpture aims to catch the attention of the British is called “Queen’s Green Canopy”; since last October, more than one million trees have been planted in the United Kingdom under this program.
