Monark says he regrets apologizing in Nazi case

by

Youtuber Bruno Aiub, aka Monark, said in an interview with the Cara a Tapa podcast that he regrets having apologized after giving a very controversial opinion in favor of Nazism on the Flow Podcast. At the time, he said that he understood the creation of a Nazi party in Brazil to be the most correct and ended up out of the program.

“It wasn’t smart of me to apologize. I think I should have kept quiet. The problem with when you apologize is that you validate the narrative that you did what you were accused of, even if it wasn’t true,” he said.

“I understand that I vacillated in the way I expressed myself, because I was drunk and, the way I said it, it was very easy to be interpreted in another way”, he reinforced, also regretting that there would have been cuts in which only the lines in favor would appear. and not the ones he said, for example, that “all Nazism is idiotic”

“I didn’t apologize for my idea, for what I think. I still believe in the first amendment of the United States, I still think it’s an excellent law that governs freedom of expression. But I apologized for the way I delivered this idea to the population”, declared the youtuber who also advised anyone who says something controversial not to apologize.

“Because when you show blood to a gang of rabid cancellation sharks, the only thing you’re going to do is increase their appetite.”
