Brad Pitt sues Angelina Jolie and tries to reverse the couple’s winery sale

Pitt, who has been suing his ex since last year, now wants the case to go to jury and asks for compensation “in an amount to be proven at trial”, in addition to the nullity of the sale made by Jolie to the Tenute del group. Mondo, which would be owned by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group.

The couple bought a majority stake in the southern French vineyard in 2008 and in the Château Miraval house, where they married in 2014. According to Pitt, the place became his passion and “a multi-million global business”, without Jolie having contributed to it.

Still in the divorce proceedings, the actress would have consummated the sale, “keeping the actor in the dark and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights”, says the document from the actor’s team, which alleges that Jolie’s company, Nouvel, owed the company. of the actor, Mondo Bongo, the right of first refusal.

According to the actor’s team, the new owners try to obtain “confidential and proprietary information for the benefit of their competing company”, using “relentless business tactics and dubious professional associations”, which “compromises the reputation of the brand Pitt built with so careful”.

Pitt is suing his ex-wife for breach of implied contract; breach of quasi-contract, alleged in the alternative; breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing; unlawful interference in contractual relationships; tortuous interference in potential business relationships; and constructive trust.

The winery was once considered the couple’s retreat. They met on the spot on the set of “Mr. and Mrs Smith” (2004), when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Anniston. Now, the winery is yet another property that the couple disputes in their divorce. According to the lawsuit, the vineyard is valued at more than 140 million euros (R$ 820 million).
