The Pontil Theater reopened at the weekend with its performances sold-out.

One of the most popular theaters in Kyiv reopened for the first time since the Russian invasion and the start of the war in Ukraine.

The Theater in Pontil reopened the weekend with his performances sold-out.

“We wondered what it would be like if spectators came during the war, if they thought about the theater at all,” one of the actors, Yuri Felipenko, said on Sunday. “And we were happy that the first three projects were sold out.”

Kostya Tomliak, one of his colleagues, said that while he was hesitant to play with the war still raging, he was inspired by the large number of people who returned to Kyiv.

“You continue to live, although you do not forget that there is a war,” he said.

The theater, founded in 1987, is known as one of the most popular art venues in Kyiv.

Entertainment is gradually returning to its capital, with cinemas and the National Opera opening its doors for the first time in late May.
