Alok vents about moments of panic after Marília Mendonça’s death

DJ Alok, 30, elected the fourth best DJ in the world by a specialized magazine, shared this Wednesday (24) on social media an open letter saying that he began to question his priorities in personal and professional life, after the death of Marília Mendonça , in a plane crash on November 5th.

“Since Marília Mendonça’s early departure, I went through a process of many questions, with deep sadness and moments of panic. The world is very fast and there is no time. Not even for mourning”

The DJ said he hears that he needs to post a new music video, commercial deliveries, about upcoming shows. “But what if I didn’t feel ready? There’s no time for questions,” he said.

Alok said he was feeling detached from reality and very airy, bringing in triggers and plunging headlong into a bout of labyrinthitis. “I’ve never gone through this and had no idea how uncomfortable it is.”

The DJ said that despite everything he fulfilled his work commitments with a smile on his face, but he felt the weight of his thoughts. “But I didn’t share my pains, because I believe the world is in too much pain. And since I want to be a vehicle for healing, I need to be healed.”

Alok said he wants to get closer to fans so they can get to know a little more about his life and not just snippets of stories and news told by other people. “Rare are my most intimate apparitions, but now I am resolved, and I want to get closer to you.”

The DJ says that some people comment on his photos saying the look looks sad, but he counters that he carries a lot of stories. “How many things I’ve lived and seen in this life. It’s a depth. But I promise you it’s not a look of sadness,” Alok assured.

The artist also showed gratitude to God, family, friends and fans. He praised the Romana Novais woman for being a companion. I have no words to thank Romana for being so amazing, patient, and welcoming to me. Often the only one to know. Thank you love of my life.”

Alok also spoke of the importance of forgiveness and revealed that he is practicing it with many people who have wronged him. He also asked for forgiveness if he ever did harm to anyone, even if unintentionally. “And when I forgive, I release the prisoner, which in this case is me.”

The DJ ended the message saying that he feels better today and would like his fans to know how important they are to him. “You are my strength. You make it all worthwhile. Know that I will be eternally grateful to each one of you who supports me and believes in my work. You teach me a lot and give me the fuel to move forward always with a smile in the face.”
